I ain’t daid! (for yankees, “I am not dead!”)

I am a total slacker.  And for that, I am sorry.  This summer has been crazy, and I will fill you in on all the details later (New Orleans!  A Jimmy Buffett concert!  A proposal!).  But I wanted to post this and let all of the two of you that read this know that I will be returning shortly once I get back into the swing of seeking out recipes, trying them out and writing about them.  Part of the reason why I’ve been away has been because my computer’s been at a friend’s house getting fixed now for the last two months.  He tells me it’s because HP’s been terrible to get parts out of, and that they’d rather us ship the computer to them.  Either way, I miss my computer.

Another reason why I haven’t blogged is that I have been on a writer’s block for cooking.  It’s recently been refreshed with the purchase of two books: Karen Solomon’s Jam It, Pickle It, Cure It and Other Cooking Projects (gorgeous pictures with recipes on how to make things like marshmallows, fresh pasta, curing bacon and limoncello…amazing); and Julia Child’s Julia’s Kitchen Wisdom (kind of like a mini version of Mastering the Art of French Cooking).  Of course I love Julia and this is my first Julia Child cookbook and I love how she writes and organizes this book.

Also, I love cooking in the fall, love the heartier foods and it’s not as ridiculously hot to cook in the fall versus the summer.

Anyway, I will write more later with an actual, attempted recipe.

Bye y’all!
